Let's delve into what sets IIT Delhi's project management programme apart, as shared by industry experts and professionals who have experienced its transformative impact.
Pulkit Kr. Dohan says, “The best part of the course is the guru mantras by the professors, which act like a Chanakya Niti to survive in any kind of job or at any place. In addition to these, all lectures are immersive and engaging, interesting and interactive.”
The lectures are delivered via 100+ hours of live online sessions, real-world business applications, and industry case studies, with immersive pedagogy and peer-to-peer learning. The programme focuses on equipping participants with the skills to deliver projects with precision, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. It introduces participants to the tools and techniques essential for comprehensive project management, covering the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
Tangirla Viswanath also complimented the immersive pedagogy and experienced faculty of this programme. “Each slide had something to learn. It helped me present multiple topics to teams in the SADC region while I was on a quarterly visit. The biggest victory was about stakeholder Management and Scope Management. This is where most of our projects are impacted, leading to delays and cost overruns.”
Beyond these two facets, the cutting edge curriculum of this comprehensive project management programme is structured across 30 modules, each carefully crafted to provide a thorough understanding of the discipline. Beginning with an introduction to project management, the modules progress through key knowledge areas aligned with the PMBOK. It covers project life cycle, initiation, and adopts a portfolio approach to project management, addressing organisational strategy and project/portfolio selection.
Participants gain insights into project planning, scheduling, cost management, and risk analysis. Practical exposure to relevant software tools is integrated, emphasising their applicability in project management. The programme explores project procurement, supply chain management, and quality management, delving into Six Sigma and Critical Chain Project Management methodologies. It also addresses communication management, software project management, and adaptive, and agile project management.
The final modules focus on the PM process framework, value delivery systems, behavioural and leadership aspects, human resource planning, and the integration of business analytics, AI, and automation. The journey concludes with an in-depth exploration of project commissioning, closure, and handover processes.
According to past participant Hemant Kumar G, this programme caters to a diverse audience, benefiting early-career professionals and seasoned individuals across various industries such as IT, Infrastructure, and Manufacturing, among others. “The programme is novel.
